  • Gonorrhoea: pain when urinating, odorous discharge
  • Chlamydia infections: pain when urinating, unusual discharge, pain during sexual intercourse, itching in the genital area
  • HIV infections: Tiredness, night sweats, fever, swollen lymph nodes, flu-like symptoms
  • Hepatitis: fatigue, loss of appetite, headache, muscle and joint pain, nausea, abdominal pain, fever, aversion to fat and alcohol
  • Genital warts: formation of warts in the genital and anal area

Diagnosis

In most cases, the diagnosis is made by means of a smear, blood or urine test.

Treatment

Sexually transmitted diseases differ greatly from one another. Accordingly, the therapeutic approaches are also very diverse:

  • For bacterial diseases (syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia), we recommend treatment with antibiotics, sometimes by injection.
  • Virological diseases (HIV infections, hepatitis) are usually treated with medication.
  • Genital warts are treated with creams or laser therapy.
