Children have different skin to adults.

The skin problems of the youngest patients are often different from those of adults. Children's skin is more sensitive and their immune system is not yet as well developed. This is reflected in the skin problems that children and indirectly their parents are confronted with.

On the one hand, the clinical pictures are often different in children compared to adults, on the other hand, the therapies must also be adapted to the more sensitive skin. This constellation makes children's skin problems a separate speciality in dermatology. An empathetic approach and appropriate experience on the part of the doctor are just as important.

The specialist in paediatric dermatology at the Dermatology Clinic Zurich is the father of two children and has undergone continuous further training in this field.

Diagnosis

During your initial consultation with our specialist together with the child to be treated, the skin will be examined. Depending on the findings and the patient's needs, the various treatment options will be discussed.

Treatment

From the treatment and removal of molluscs, warts, eczema and other child-specific diseases to surgical removal, if necessary under anaesthetic, all paediatric dermatology treatments are carried out.
